Flitt – Visa certified payment facilitator

TBC’s member fintech company Flitt is the first in Georgia to receive full Visa Payment Facilitator (PayFac) certification.

Full PayFac certification is granted only to companies that meet Visa’s rigorous technical, legal, and financial standards. Certified platforms must comply with PCI DSS security protocols, implement effective risk management frameworks, and ensure robust data protection mechanisms.

With this certification, Flitt is officially recognized as an independent payments operator within Visa’s global network- no longer acting as a simple intermediary. The company is now authorized to manage the full payment lifecycle end-to-end, without relying on third-party processors. This enables Flitt to serve a wider range of businesses and offer existing merchants a faster, simpler, and fully digital onboarding and transaction experience. Merchant onboarding is fully online and can be completed in just a few minutes- allowing businesses to start accepting payments immediately.

As part of the certification process, Flitt underwent comprehensive audits across several critical domains, including:

  • Compliance with PCI DSS and other technical security standards;
  • Evaluation of internal risk management frameworks and procedures;
  • Assessment of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) policies in line with international best practices;
  • Effectiveness of merchant onboarding and transaction monitoring systems.

Successfully passing this process validates that Flitt’s operations align with both international regulatory requirements and Visa’s global standards.

With its new certification, Flitt is now able to:

  • Independently onboard merchants and manage the entire payments process;
  • Serve high-risk merchants and support risk mitigation through in-house risk controls;
  • Deliver innovative, secure, and competitive payment services.

“This is a significant milestone for our company. While Flitt is still new to the market, we’re proud to be the first in Georgia to achieve this certification. It confirms that, beyond simplicity and innovation, our financial services are secure and trustworthy”, – said Giorgi Kutateladze, CEO of Flitt.

By obtaining full Visa PayFac certification, Flitt takes another major step toward delivering seamless and secure payment experiences across Georgia- directly addressing the evolving needs of businesses. Despite rapid growth, the company continues to focus on expanding accessibility while upholding the highest standards of security and reliability – both of which are critical for any payment service provider.
